This tunnel runs under a bend in Ovenden Road. The Western portal is below Lee Mount Baptist Church, the other end has been obiterated. It looks as though it was bricked up fairly recently (John walked this tunnel in the mid 90's). The other end was near the mill (below) which can just be seen through the trees on the left of the photo. The track then ran alongside and below the road before crossing the valley (now a recycling centre) on a viaduct. It then entered Old Lane tunnel before reaching Halifax North Bridge station.

This pic shows the position of the tunnel (West portal) in relation to the road. The Church is just out of the photo on the right. There is also a big mill for those general urban explorers amongst you though why you would want to go poking around in derelict buildings I can't imagine!
